FORD EV JOURNEYS: WATCH HOW FORD PRO IS HELPING CLEAR CHANNEL UK ON ITS JOURNEY TO CARBON NET ZERO

14/12/2023

DUNTON, UK, Dec. 13, 2023 – When leading Out of Home media and infrastructure company Clear Channel set its ambitious Carbon Net Zero targets, it needed the support of an equally ambitious commercial vehicle productivity specialist to help make them a reality.

Enter Ford Pro – equipped with a comprehensive platform of solutions combining software, charging, servicing, and financing to simplify the transition to electrified vehicles for businesses.

In a new video, members of the Clear Channel team describe how Ford Pro is helping the company deliver on its sustainability commitments while carrying out its mission to create the future of media – providing advertising solutions for its customers while also making a positive impact on society and the environment.

Case study – Clear Channel:

Clear Channel is committed to being Carbon Net Zero across the three “scopes” of emissions – the industry standard of categorising emissions’ origin.

  • Scope 1: Direct emissions, such as Clear Channel’s fleet emissions
  • Scope 2: Indirect emissions, such as purchased or used electricity across Clear Channel’s sites
  • Scope 3: Indirect emissions in Clear Channel’s supply chain

The media owner has effectively reduced its Scope 1 and 2 carbon footprint by 89 per cent since 2008 by driving sustainability throughout its operations and is committed to Carbon Net Zero in both by 2030, with the intention of achieving Carbon Net Zero in Scope 3 by 2045, which includes transitioning to a low- and zero-emission fleet across the business.

Since 2022, the company has successfully operated a fleet of 72 Transit Custom Plug-In Hybrid 1,2 vans from Ford Pro. The pure-electric, zero-tailpipe emission driving capability of these vehicles enables Clear Channel to operate them in numerous ultra-low emission zones. Clear Channel will continue its work with Ford Pro to include fully‑electric vehicles in its next vehicle replacement cycle.

Using Ford Pro Telematics 3 to analyse data from its cloud-connected fleet, Clear Channel’s fleet managers can monitor and review the use of pure-electric driving, and prove that the company has complied with regulations designed to improve local air quality.

Ford Pro Charging consulted with Clear Channel to develop a bespoke, flexible, and future-proofed depot charging system with 10 charge points to support its fleet.

Data from Ford Pro Telematics is also helping the company to identify larger vehicles that could similarly make the switch to electric.
